About Medusoft

With a broad range of security solutions and services from McAfee and other suppliers, Medusoft ensures that its clients’ security is configured optimally, works effectively and is managed properly. For an increasing number of clients, Medusoft’s Certified System Engineers are even taking over the full remote management. This means that an organisation can focus on its core tasks without interruption.

Since 2001, more than 1100 large and medium-sized companies, organisations and government departments have discovered the benefits of Medusoft’s unique security expertise and services and have become our clients. Medusoft’s product range has grown from simple virus scanners into a complete security policy which is ready to handle today’s threats.

Medusoft’s largest supplier is the biggest network security company in the world, the American company McAfee, which has formed part of Intel since 2011.

History
From 1 May 2001, Medusoft has grown from a small software supplier into a service specialist and most recently a leading Dutch-language security provider.

According to the CEO Erik Remmelzwaal: In the early days, we still had to convince companies that they needed to protect themselves against viruses. Of course, since then the intensity of the viruses and everything which has become possible on computers and the internet has taken off enormously. We have grown along with it, in fact just like the McAfee product range which has also become much broader. This fact is not always widely known, but we are working hard to make people more aware of it. How? By highlighting sector-specific security problems, for example. Here, one could mention specific risks in large hospitals, a field in which we have a great deal of experience.

For five years or so, Medusoft has mainly been focusing on services based around security software licences. We offer 24/7 Dutch-language support, which make us unique in the Netherlands. We also provide training courses for solutions such as the centralised management product McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator, commonly abbreviated to ePO.

Core tasks
Medusoft’s core task is to provide its clients with insights into the security risks in their network.
Medusoft works together with the client to establish the best Security Risk Management (SRM) strategy. In contrast to (in-house) network administrators or system developers, Medusoft is able to focus completely on this core activity and can build on the solutions which it has applied in many different sectors.

Organisation
Medusoft currently has 35 employees and this number is growing rapidly. Medusoft is always looking to expand and strengthen its team. Medusoft consultants regularly attend training sessions offered by suppliers and other IT experts both at home and abroad, to get the latest know-how right from the source.

Since October 2010, Medusoft has been managed by CEO and co-founder Erik Remmelzwaal and Sander Mossing Holsteijn
(Sales Manager). Both have worked in the ICT sector for years and are passionate about contributing to a secure and reliable digital society.

Erik Remmelzwaal: ICT is becoming more and more interwoven into society, both for work and personal purposes, and is therefore increasingly vulnerable. Medusoft recruits young talents to track, scrutinise and analyse all the developments in order to constantly provide our clients with information and keep new security solutions up to date.

The support team consists of McAfee Certified System Engineers (CSEs), amongst others. They have been specially trained by McAfee to install and maintain McAfee network security products. As a result of this comprehensive McAfee product and licence knowledge, the Medusoft team has achieved McAfee ElitePartner status.
